Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, child of actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, made a significant move on her 18th birthday by initiating legal proceedings to remove “Pitt” from her surname. She now intends to be known only as “Shiloh Jolie,” and while the petition is still pending, it is expected to be accepted, as per a report from TMZ.
Similar actions have been noticed among her siblings as well. Vivienne Jolie-Pitt was recently credited as “Vivienne Jolie” in a theatrical Playbill, though it’s still unclear whether a formal name change has been pursued for her like Shiloh’s.
Zahara Jolie, while attending Spelman College, chose to introduce herself sans the “Pitt” surname as well. Maddox Jolie-Pitt, who is 22, prefers “Jolie” for non-legal usage. Back in 2021, Us Weekly reported that although Maddox wanted to legally drop “Pitt” from his name, Angelina Jolie did not support this move at the time.
The relationship between the Jolie-Pitt children and Brad Pitt has been a topic of speculation and controversy. This was exhibited when Pax, another of the siblings, seemingly labeled their father negatively in a 2020 post.
Despite Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie being legally declared single since 2019, their divorce proceedings remain unresolved.
