In a recent ceremony at NASA’s Stennis Space Center, Center Director John Bailey and Space Operations Associate Administrator Kenneth Bowersox awarded a number of NASA Honor Awards to deserving employees, recognizing their exceptional contributions and dedication to NASA’s mission.
Among the awardees, Bailey himself was honored with the Meritorious Senior Executive Presidential Rank Award presented by the President, commending his impactful leadership and management since starting at NASA in 1999 and his role as the director responsible for leading NASA’s rocket propulsion testing initiatives.
Michael Tubbs, a leader in advancements and cost-saving initiatives at Stennis, was recognized with the NASA Outstanding Leadership Medal for his significant influence on NASA projects.
Exceptional dedication to NASA’s projects earned five employees the NASA Exceptional Service Medal. Recognized were David Lorance for environmental management, Brad Messer for superior business operations in testing, Kevin Power for engineering leadership, Cecile Saltzman for meticulous document process management, and John Stealey for his extensive background in NASA’s strategic planning.
Rodney King was honored with the NASA Exceptional Public Service Medal for his dedicated facility maintenance supervision, which showcased his customer-first approach and vital electrical work.
Four individuals, Barry Hoda, Leeanna Dunigan, Brenden Burns, and Issac Delancey, received the NASA Exceptional Bravery Medal for their life-saving responses during a medical emergency in December 2022, where they exhibited extraordinary courage and quick thinking.
Richard Smith’s contributions to data acquisition and control systems for propulsion testing were acknowledged by bestowing upon him the NASA Exceptional Technology Achievement Medal.
An additional four employees, John Boffenmyer, Thomas Meredith, Kris Mobbs, and Ryan Seals were recipients of the NASA Exceptional Achievement Medal. Their individual efforts in program management, engineering, and software development significantly advanced NASA’s mission efficiency and technology.
Early career excellence was celebrated with the NASA Early Career Achievement Medal awarded to Huy Nguyen, Kevin Oramous, Jason Richard, and Bradley Tyree for their outstanding performances in enhancing NASA’s testing support capabilities.
Finally, Gregg De Felicibus was awarded the NASA Silver Achievement Medal for his embodiment of NASA’s core values through exceptional procurement and contracting work.
