Dwayne Johnson has recently encountered a setback on the set of his latest film project, The Smashing Machine, in the form of a significant elbow injury.
The seasoned 52-year-old star is at present working on the set of the A24 movie alongside Emily Blunt, marking a reunion since their last collaboration on Jungle Cruise.
Dwayne disclosed the extent of his injury through an Instagram video, where he explained the situation.

“Look at that sucker right there,” he says while referring to his elbow in the video. “It seems like there’s a cantaloupe stuck at the bottom of my elbow. I took quite a hit today during our action sequences, and it’s possible there’s soft tissue damage in there. We’re looking at a significant amount of fluid — need to get that drained before proceeding with an MRI.”
The actor also reminisced about a piece of advice from his late father.
“My dad always had this saying, ‘A day without pain is a day without sunshine, boy.’ I’ve been through many injuries in my career, I’ve endured a number of blows … If anyone has any strong recommendations for effective anti-inflammatories, please drop me some tips,” Dwayne added.
