Regarding her wishes for audience takeaway from We Were the Lucky Ones: “Considering the Holocaust, the sheer number of lives lost is almost too immense to comprehend. There’s a certain detachment due to its historic nature, which is overwhelming. I hope that through this story, we can make the history more personal, more human. Since we may be among the last to coexist with Holocaust survivors, it is vital that we ensure the magnitude and the reality of these events do not fade in the collective memory of future generations.”
On valuing each acting role she’s had: “It’s not necessary to be fond of every project you’re part of. You often have little say in the final outcome. Much of my early career involved taking roles I auditioned for, which led to a mix of results. But I cherish each of those opportunities as stepping stones that helped shape my career, and for that, I am grateful.”
Discussing why method acting isn’t for her: “I doubt I possess the emotional resilience required for method acting. It’s important to me to be able to leave a character on set and decompress afterwards. However, due to the emotional weight of this particular role, there were days when I would return home and just need to cry. That’s not typical for me, so it was a notable experience.”
