Torres Hits Two Homers, Greene Adds Four RBIs as Tigers Dominate Reds 11–5
Detroit took an early lead when Gleyber Torres launched a leadoff homer on the very first pitch of the game, setting the tone for the afternoon. He added a second solo shot in the seventh to energize both his team and the home crowd.
Riley Greene broke the game open in the sixth with a thunderous two-RBI double, extending the Tigers’ lead to 7–2 . Greene finished with four RBIs, driving in more than a third of Detroit’s runs.
Javier Báez also delivered, going three-for-five with a homer, two RBIs, and three runs scored. Jake Rogers rounded out the offensive surge with two hits and two RBIs, helping Detroit keep relentless pressure on Cincinnati pitching.
Starter Keider Montero earned the win, pitching five solid innings and allowing just two earned runs while striking out four. He navigated a tight spot in the fourth—bases loaded with one out—by escaping unscathed. Relievers Matt Gage and Chase Lee closed out the game, holding the Reds to three runs in the ninth and preserving the Tigers’ comfortable lead.
Even in defeat, the Reds showed flashes of resistance. T.J. Friedl and Elly De La Cruz delivered solo home runs for Cincinnati, and De La Cruz also collected three hits and two RBIs, matching Tyler Stephenson’s three-hit, two-RBI performance.
