The Wheel of Time Season 4 Update: Here's What the Cast and Creator Just Revealed

The Wheel of Time Season 4: Will the Epic Fantasy Continue on Prime Video?

The third season of The Wheel of Time has come to an end, but fans are left with one big question—will there be a Season 4? So far, Amazon has not officially renewed the show, but the story clearly isn’t finished. The final episode of Season 3 leaves the door open for more adventures, and both the cast and the showrunner remain optimistic that the journey will continue.

No Closure Yet: Season 3 Ends on a Cliffhanger

The Wheel of Time, based on the bestselling novels by Robert Jordan, has gained a strong and passionate fanbase since its debut on Prime Video. Starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine Damodred, the fantasy series has delivered three seasons filled with magic, mystery, and massive world-building.

But despite the show’s popularity, Amazon has yet to greenlight a fourth season.

The Season 3 finale didn’t tie up all the plotlines, suggesting that more episodes are needed to fully complete the story.

Showrunner Rafe Judkins Speaks Out

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Rafe Judkins admitted that he’s just as eager for answers as the fans.

“That is the same thing that I’ve been sort of asking Amazon,” Judkins said. “What is the end game for the show? I really want to deliver this full series.”

Judkins emphasized that when they first pitched The Wheel of Time, they chose Amazon because it was known for supporting long-term storytelling. According to him, the plan was always to stay loyal to the books and tell the full saga over multiple seasons.

“I think one reason we went with Amazon… is that they want to invest in shows for the long term,” he added.

Why Continuing The Wheel of Time Matters

Judkins explained that wrapping up the series is not just important for the fans—it’s important for the integrity of the story. He believes that TV shows, especially those adapted from long book series, need time to grow and evolve.

“The books get better as they go along. I believe the show is following that same path,” Judkins said.

He also made a broader point about TV as a storytelling medium: if stories are started, they should be finished.

“Finishing what you start—that’s something TV should do best,” he stated.

Cast Members Are Also Optimistic

It’s not just the showrunner who’s hopeful. Josha Stradowski, who plays the central character Rand al’Thor, also believes Season 4 will happen.

In an interview with Collider, Stradowski said:

“Yeah, we’re confident that a fourth season will be greenlit.”

The cast appears to be emotionally invested in continuing the story, and their enthusiasm is being echoed by fans all over social media.

Why There Might Be a Long Wait

Even if Amazon does renew the show, fans might need to be very patient. There were nearly two years between the earlier seasons, and the same could happen again.

That means:

  • If renewed in 2025,
  • Filming could begin in late 2025 or early 2026,
  • And new episodes might not arrive until late 2026 or even 2027.

For fantasy shows with big budgets, long production timelines are common. Special effects, complex sets, and large-scale battles take time to perfect.

Recap: Why Fans Are Still Hopeful for Season 4

What We Know So Far:

  • No official renewal yet from Amazon
  • Season 3 ends without a clear conclusion
  • Showrunner and cast want the story to continue
  • Amazon is seen as a platform that supports long-term shows
  • Possible return date could be in 2026 or 2027

The Books Deserve a Full Adaptation

The Wheel of Time book series consists of 14 volumes and a prequel, making it one of the most ambitious fantasy adaptations in television. So far, the series has only scratched the surface.

Judkins and the creative team have stayed true to the epic scale and depth of the original novels. But to bring the full story to life, they’ll need several more seasons.

Letting the story end here would leave not just the fans, but also the source material, feeling incomplete.

The Wheel May Still Turn

While fans may be anxious for answers, the general tone from both cast and crew is one of cautious optimism. Judkins’ commitment to the story, Amazon’s reputation for long-form content, and the strong fan response all point toward a promising future.

Even though the wait might be long, the magic of The Wheel of Time is far from over.

Until Amazon gives the official word, all fans can do is stay hopeful, keep rewatching, and maybe even pick up the books for a deeper dive into the world of Rand, Moiraine, and the One Power.
