These processors are built with artificial intelligence (AI) in mind, promising superior performance for AI-powered tasks. Several ASUS product lines got a refresh, including the Zenbook, Vivobook, ROG Zephyrus, and TUF Gaming.
A critical feature of the new Ryzen AI 300 chips is the built-in Neural Processing Unit (NPU). This separate chip tackles AI workloads, allowing the main CPU to focus on other tasks. The NPU in these processors delivers a whopping 50 TOPS (trillion operations per second) of performance, exceeding the 40 TOPS threshold required for advanced Copilot+ features in Windows 11.
The Zenbook S 16 stands out as a top-of-the-line offering. It’s a sleek and powerful laptop designed for creative professionals. The 16-inch OLED display boasts a stunning 3K resolution, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and a trendy 16:10 aspect ratio. Power users can configure it with up to an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU, a whopping 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and a massive 2TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. The starting price is $1,400 and you can already preorder one at Best Buy.
The Vivobook S lineup has also been revamped with the new Ryzen AI processors. These laptops come in 14-inch, 15-inch, and 16-inch configurations and are made entirely of metal for a premium feel. ASUS claims they’re thinner and lighter than their predecessors, but specific details on availability and pricing are still under wraps.
For gamers, ASUS announced two new TUF Gaming laptops, the A14 and A16. These laptops combine the power of an AMD Ryzen AI CPU with a discrete NVIDIA GPU. The A16 can be configured with up to an NVIDIA RTX 4070 Laptop GPU, delivering a potent combination of AI performance and graphics muscle. The 16-inch display boasts a sharp 2560×1600 (QHD+) resolution, a super-fast 165Hz refresh rate, and G-Sync technology for tear-free gaming.
The smaller A14 offers similar specs but with a more compact 14-inch display. Both laptops can be configured with up to 32GB of RAM and a spacious 2TB SSD. Pricing and availability for these models are yet to be revealed.
Gamers will also be interested in the update to the ROG Zephyrus G16. This popular gaming laptop gets a bump up to the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU while maintaining its sleek design. It can be configured with up to an NVIDIA RTX 4070 Laptop GPU and a whopping 32GB of RAM. ASUS has yet to announce pricing or availability for this model.
ASUS also announced new ProArt laptops, including the ProArt PZ13, a 2-in-1 competitor to the Surface Pro 11 powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X chip. The ProArt P16 and PX13 are more traditional laptops designed for creators and designers and powered by AMD Ryzen AI chips. These models are covered in a separate announcement.
