Telegram unveils a new group video calling feature

Messaging chat application Telegram has added group video chat to its mobile and desktop applications at last, something it ensured was returning April 2020. Voice chats in any group on the platform can be changed into video calls by tapping the camera icon to turn on your contraption’s video.

Telegram says a boundless number of users can look into an audio call, anyway group video calls will be confined to the underlying 30 people who join a voice chat. The association means to fabricate that limit “soon,” it said in its revelation. Users can similarly share their screens during a video call.

Telegram CEO Pavel Durov said in January that the association had shown up at 500 million powerful users, a critical number of whom went to the platform after the Facebook-guaranteed rival chat platform WhatsApp spoiled the introduction of another privacy policy. Taking everything into account, Telegram’s show of group video calls slacks the resistance; WhatsApp, which had 2 billion users as of February, added group video and voice calling in 2018.

Close by the long awaited group video calls, Telegram added a couple of other new features, including improved noise suppression, and animated backgrounds. Users on Telegram’s iOS or Android applications can peruse a couple of default choices or make their own animated backgrounds.
