SummerSlam 2025 Goes Two Nights at MetLife Stadium

For the first time in history, SummerSlam will unfold across two nights—Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3, 2025—at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This marks the 38th edition of WWE's premier summer event and mirrors the extended format of WrestleMania.

Both nights begin streaming at 6 p.m. ET (3 p.m. PT) on Peacock in the U.S., and globally via Netflix under WWE’s exclusive streaming deal.

Night One: Rivalries Ignite

The first night emphasizes raw intensity and grudge matches, including three world title defenses.

Featured Matches on Night One:

  • Gunther vs. CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship
  • Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship
  • A tag team showdown: Randy Orton & Jelly Roll versus Drew McIntyre & Logan Paul
  • Roman Reigns & Jey Uso battle Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed
  • Women’s Tag Team Championship: Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez defend against Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair
  • A heated singles match: Sami Zayn vs. Karrion Kross

Celebrity host Cardi B will introduce additional flair.

Night Two: High Stakes and Retirement Drama

On Night Two, expect a dramatic rematch and several high-stakes showdowns:

  • John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes in a Street Fight for the Undisputed WWE Championship—a replay of their WrestleMania main event, with Cena’s final SummerSlam appearance already casting a spotlight on this bout.
  • A Women’s World Championship triple-threat: Naomi vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Iyo Sky, featuring Ripley's recent Money in the Bank cash-in.
  • Solo Sikoa vs. Jacob Fatu in a Steel Cage match for the U.S. Title.
  • Additional showdowns featuring Becky Lynch, AJ Styles, and a multi-team TLC match for the Tag Team Championship.

Storylines Fueled by Tournament Results

The key matchups stem from the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments. Cody Rhodes earned his title shot after defeating Randy Orton, while Jade Cargill secured her Women's Championship opportunity by beating Asuka.

Elsewhere, tensions escalated organically: Jelly Roll’s debut tie-in with Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre began on SmackDown, igniting a feud that will reach its climax in the tag team bout on Night One.

Global Accessibility and Broadcast Notes

SummerSlam will air live on Peacock in the U.S. and via Netflix internationally, with Netflix showing it at 1 am BST in the U.K., 3:30 AM IST in India, and tailored release times for other regions.

Watch live kickoff shows and extended coverage, including post-show panels hosted by Triple H and top WWE talent.

Why This Event Matters

SummerSlam 2025 is historic—not just for its two-night format, but for storytelling with major stakes: Cena's farewell match, Rhodes’ redemption arc, new face-offs and celebrity crossovers, all at one of WWE’s biggest venues.

Whether you're watching title clashes, celebrity cameos, or crowd‑pleasing rivalries, fans can expect a packed lineup and high drama across both nights.
