Stranger Things: The First Shadow is making its grand debut on Broadway in Spring 2025! Fans of the hit Netflix series can experience the spine-chilling story live on stage at the Marquis Theatre in New York. Previews begin March 28, 2025, with the official opening night set for April 22, 2025.

A Stellar Cast Bringing Hawkins to Life

Back by popular demand, Louis McCartney will reprise his award-winning role as Henry Creel, the character who played a pivotal role in the dark origins of the Upside Down. His performance in London’s West End earned him the 2024 Stage Debut Award for Best Performer in a Play and the Critics’ Circle Award for Most Promising Newcomer.

Director Stephen Daldry and co-director Justin Martin praised McCartney’s talent, stating, "Louis is an astonishing actor. We knew from the moment we met him that he was special. Broadway audiences are in for a treat!"

What is Stranger Things: The First Shadow About?

This gripping play is a prequel to the Stranger Things series, set in Hawkins, Indiana, in 1959. The story follows a young Jim Hopper, a high school student dealing with everyday struggles, Joyce Maldonado, who dreams of escaping town, and Bob Newby, who just wants his radio show to be taken seriously.

But their ordinary world takes a dark turn when newcomer Henry Creel arrives with his family. What seems like a fresh start soon becomes a nightmare, as long-buried secrets and supernatural forces begin to emerge.
