Fresh off her first Grammy win, Colombian singer-songwriter Karol G is set to be honored with the Woman of the Year award at the upcoming 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards. The prestigious event will take place at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles on March 6, with actress Tracee Ellis Ross hosting the ceremony.
Karol G, 32, achieved stateside success with her fourth album Mañana Será Bonito, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album’s release propelled her to new heights, leading to a sold-out North American stadium tour and earning her the title of the highest-grossing Latin touring artist of 2023.
Hannah Karp, Billboard’s editorial director, praised Karol G for her immense talent and global impact. She described the singer as a trailblazer with empowering lyrics and unwavering confidence, noting that Mañana Será Bonito solidified her as a force in both English and Spanish music charts.
Other notable honorees at the event include Kylie Minogue, Maren Morris, Ice Spice, Charli XCX, Young Miko, Victoria Monét, NewJeans, TEMS, and Luísa Sonza. Minogue, 55, will receive the Icon Award in recognition of her prolific career, highlighted by her acclaimed 16th studio album Tension and the Grammy-winning single “Padam Padam.”
