Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton was forced to exit Tuesday’s game against the Phoenix Suns after sustaining a left ankle sprain in the first quarter. According to the Bucks, Middleton will not return to the game.
The injury occurred with 6:08 remaining in the first quarter when Middleton landed awkwardly on the foot of Suns forward Kevin Durant after attempting a jump shot. Middleton was visibly in pain and had to be helped off the court, limping to Milwaukee’s bench.
Following a review of the play, the referees assessed Durant a Flagrant 1 foul, determining that he did not provide enough room for Middleton to safely land after his shot.
Middleton, a three-time All-Star, will undergo further evaluation for the extent of his injury, and updates on his condition are expected to follow.
