Thailand Masters Badminton 2023 has concluded on Sunday and winners were presented with trophies alongside $210,000 as prize money.

The schedule on final day started with women’s singles encounter here at the Nimibutr National Stadium, Bangkok.

In the all Chinese women’s singles clash, Zhang Yi Man got better of her compatriot and the fourth seed, Han Yue in a thrilling three setter, 15-21, 21-13, 21-18. Han Yue started strong and captured the first game comfortably and even was leading in the second by 7-2. Just when Han looked unstoppable, Zhang made an amazing comeback by equalling the score 11-11. With regained confidence, Yi Man didn’t look back from there, winning straight points and thereby capturing the second game 21-13.

In the decider, both the Chinese gave their everything resulting in score line tie, 14-14. That is when Zhang played perfect shots to get on to the match point and eventually won it 21-18.

In the men’s singles final match, Lin Chun-Yi from Chinese Taipei beat Ng Ka Long Angus from Hongkong in straight sets to clinch the title, 21-17, 21-14. The Taiwanese youngster putup a clinical performance, while displaying aggression whenever needed.

The first game saw both players playing aggressive badminton resulting in a tight score line till 14-14. Chun then went into the lead 18-15. Angus almost caught up making it 17-18. Chun didn’t let the Hongkongese level the score, by winning three points in a row, capturing the game 21-17.

The second game saw Angus leading till mid game, 10-9. Chun played exceptional badminton coming from the interval and gave no chance for Angus to make a comeback. Lin went into a seven point lead to 19-12 and thereby winning it 21-14 to lift the trophy.

In the other encounter, Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dong Ping from China beat Seo Seung Jae and Chae Yu Jung from korea, 18-21, 21-15, 21-12 to win the mixed doubles trophy.

Indonesia’s Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin beat Su Ching Heng and Ye Hong Wei of Chinese Taipei, 21-16, 21-17 to be crowned as Men’s doubles champions.

In the last match of the day, Thai pair of Benyapa Aimsaard and Nuntakam Aimsaard beat the Korean pair of Beak Ha Na and Lee So Hee in straight sets, 21-6, 21-11 to lift the women’s doubles title.
