This is considered the most critical turn ever in the war between Russia and Ukraine. According to Ukrainian military sources, Russian forces suffered very heavy casualties, estimated at more than 10,000 in just one week. Such an enormous figure further pointed toward the heavy weight of war fighting and its toll upon military forces.

This is subsequent to the reported losses in a period of heightened fighting as both sides engage in heavy battles on several fronts. According to Ukrainian officials, the increased casualties of Russian troops may be attributed to various factors, such as increased resistance from Ukrainians, effective counterattacks, and the tough conditions soldiers have to face in the battlefields.
