Ready or Not 2: Samara Weaving and Radio Silence Reunite for Sequel
Samara Weaving will reprise her iconic role as Grace Van der Linge in a sequel to the hit horror-comedy Ready or Not. It was a critical and commercial smash hit in 2019 with its witty script, dark humor, and more than anything else, Samara Weaving's performance.
While the Ready or Not film production company was behind the original Ready or Not movie, it is now responsible for Ready or Not 2, the sequel. Being writers and directors of the first film, Matt Betinelli-Olson and Tyler Gillett were already set for another rendezvous with the same movie.
Since the details of Ready or Not 2 storyline have been kept top secret, indications are that it will continue the widow's storyline of Grace as her challenges and threats mount. Likely, the sequel to the film will be akin to horror, comedy, and social commentary that made the first part highly successful.
Actress Samara Weaving was enthusiastic about reprising her role as Grace. "I had just such a great time making the first film, and I wasn't going to miss this opportunity to see what we could do with the sequel," she said. "Grace is a character that I really love, and I'm excited to explore more of her story."
Radio Silence also expressed excitement for the project. "We had a blast making the first Ready or Not and are thrilled to be returning to the world of the Le Domas family," said Matt Betinelli-Olson and Tyler Gillett. "We can't wait to share what we have in store for fans."
The sequel shall reportedly start filming early 2025, while hopefully hits the theatres sometime in 2026. Fans of the first film are looking forward eagerly to Ready or Not 2 hoping it makes it as entertaining and mind-provoking as the original film was.
Original Ready or Not was a critical and commercial success, grossing more than $110 million worldwide. It received applause for the witty script, dark humor, and outstanding performance by Weaving. Therefore, this sequel is sure to follow up the same success as from the first film and become another hit in the genre of horror-comedy.
