Panthers Strike First, Take Early Lead Over Giants in Germany
In the NFL’s early game in Germany, Panthers rookie quarterback Bryce Young opened with an impressive touchdown pass, leading Carolina to a quick lead against the Giants. Young displayed his agility in the pocket, scrambling to buy time before spotting Ja’Tavion Sanders in the end zone for a precise five-yard touchdown. This capped an efficient and aggressive 90-yard drive by the Panthers, who are finding their rhythm with Young at the helm and running back Chuba Hubbard charging ahead with 61 rushing yards in less than half of the first quarter.
The Panthers' offensive momentum was fueled by a surprising decision by Giants coach Brian Daboll on the previous drive. With the Giants at the Panthers' 38-yard line, Daboll opted not to attempt a 56-yard field goal or go for it on fourth down, instead accepting a delay of game penalty to set up a punt. The conservative call handed the Panthers excellent field position, allowing Young and Hubbard to capitalize and drive the Panthers down the field. The result was a methodical touchdown drive, giving Carolina an early edge and leaving the Giants questioning their missed opportunity to strike first.
