"One Piece" is an animated and manga by Eiichiro Oda that has been popular for more than ten years since its inception in 1997. Monkey D. Luffy, a one-hearted captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, explores the ocean of Grand Line by its crew as they search for the legendary treasure, One Piece. This show is known to develop such rich storylines and personalities of characters and find creative ideas to create their world. In 2023, as this continues to gain more popularity, Netflix did bring this new live-action adaptation on August 31, 2023, to introduce the tale to a new generation.

1. Monkey D. Luffy

3. Nami

She is the navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates and is known for her talent for cartography and navigation. She has a tragic past in that she grew up in a pirate Buggy-controlled village. Nami dreams of completing a map of the entire world. Her smart brain and cleverness are a must for the survival of the crew and often tends to come up with plans during battles using her wit.


4. Usopp

Usopp is the sniper of the crew and a good liar who always likes to believe in a heroic cause, but tends to doubt his abilities. Usopp's wish is to be as bold a sea warrior and as the world journeyer as his father, Yasopp, a Red-Haired Pirate member. Usopp used loads of gadgets and inventions in battle, making him a wonderful asset to the crew. He transforms himself from a fearful boy to a brave fighter and one of the series' compelling arcs.

5. Sanji

Sanji is a sailor of the Straw Hat Pirates, a great cook, and an able martial artist who has his legs serving him very well in battles. He dreams of being able to locate that perfect sea, which is referred to as All Blue, where every fish from every ocean comes together for him to be able to cook the greatest dishes ever. In most cases, the chivalrous nature of Sanji forces him to prioritize the well-being of women above everything else, creating comedic tension in some parts of the crew. He is a comical character with a loud mouth and great cooking skills, adding warmth to the series.

6. Tony Tony Chopper

He is the doctor of his crew and a reindeer who has consumed the human-human fruit to be able to acquire human-like abilities. Brook dreamt of reuniting with his childhood friend in Laboon—a whale to which he said goodbye—never to be left. Unique appearance and his comical aspect are the comic relief, which sees him making the team laugh, while deep loyalty and a show of bravery permeate in battles.

10. Jinbei

Jinbei is an ex-seawarlord and fisherman. To his surprise, he found out that he is the helmsman of the crew. His sense of justice and wisdom make him a guru to the crewmates. Jinbei desires peace between humankind and the fisherman; therefore, he frequently gives reason and counsel to the crew regarding various situations.
