A devastating plane crash in southeast Ohio has claimed the lives of three individuals, identified as a father, his son, and a family friend, who were on their way to Florida to pick up a newly purchased vehicle over the weekend.

The victims of the crash were identified as 44-year-old pilot Daniel Baker of Jackson, his father Robert Daniel Baker 78, of Lucasville, and 45-year-old Zebulon Logan of Lucasville. The trio was en route to Florida to collect a vehicle that Logan had recently purchased.

The tragic incident occurred shortly after takeoff, when their small plane, a Piper PA 32 Cherokee Six, crashed into a field just north of the James A. Rhodes Airport in Jackson County. The plane was discovered engulfed in flames, prompting an immediate response from local authorities.

Despite the efforts of emergency responders, all three occupants of the aircraft were found deceased at the scene.
