Kanye, who founded the clothing line Yeezy,  talked about how his collaboration with the Gap ended. Last week, Kanye issued a letter to the Gap ending their 10-year association, claiming that they had broken their agreement to sell his Yeezy Gap clothing brand. Kanye stated his intention to launch a series of stores under the moniker YZ.

According to a message written to staff members and seen by the Wall Street Journal, Mark Breitbard, president and CEO of the Gap brand, stated the firm and West are “not aligned” in how they collaborate. Breitbard reportedly stated in a letter to the Journal that “although we share a goal, how we work together to execute this vision is not aligned.”

Kanye has lately blasted Adidas, a store that sells his clothing, in addition to the Gap. Since their collaboration with the sports company was revealed in 2016, Kanye has been working with it. However, when Adidas unveiled its Adilette 22 sandals, which resemble Ye’s Yeezy slides, Kanye took Adidas to task. He referred to their shoes as “fake Yeezys.”

“Everything was done with a general disdain for the opinion of something I helped build. At Adidas, I helped to build the product. At Gap, I helped build the product “said Kanye.

That implies that I wasn’t there to make Yeezy Gap into everything that it could be or to fulfil a dream I had about what the Gap might be, he continued. “I need to start doing my own thing”.
