Federal Investigation Launched Against Vince McMahon Over Sexual Assault Allegations

According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, Vince McMahon, the former head of WWE and TKO, is currently under federal investigation for allegations of sexual assault and sexual trafficking. The investigation stems from accusations made by multiple women against McMahon, with federal investigators having reached out to these accusers.

McMahon resigned from his positions at WWE and TKO following a lawsuit filed by former employee Janel Grant, who accused him of sexual assault and trafficking. The lawsuit detailed incidents allegedly occurring at WWE headquarters and involving other men within the company.

Federal agents executed a search warrant for McMahon’s phone over the summer and issued a subpoena for any documents related to allegations of sexual misconduct against current or former WWE employees. This included accusations of rape, sex trafficking, sexual assault, commercial sex transactions, harassment, or discrimination.

In response to the allegations, McMahon issued a statement vehemently denying the accusations and expressing his intention to vigorously defend himself. However, he announced his resignation from his executive positions out of respect for various stakeholders associated with WWE and TKO.

John Laurinaitis, a co-defendant in Grant’s lawsuit, also denied the allegations through his lawyer, Edward Brennan, asserting that he, too, was a victim in the situation. Brennan emphasized that the truth would emerge through legal proceedings rather than media speculation.

The lawsuit filed by Grant accused McMahon and Laurinaitis of sexually assaulting her at WWE’s corporate offices and implicated McMahon in trafficking her to Laurinaitis for sexual encounters.

As the investigation unfolds, the allegations against McMahon and Laurinaitis continue to garner attention and scrutiny, with both parties maintaining their innocence while awaiting legal proceedings to determine the truth
