The son of the?legendary rocker Eddie Van Halen?is in the news today after taking to social media to slam the Grammy Awards for their tribute to his father.

Last night?s broadcast of the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony definitely upset some fans when there wasn?t a major tribute made to Eddie Van Halen. Many of those fans took to social media to voice their displeasure over the tribute

And early on Monday evening, Wolf Van Halen finally offered up his thoughts regarding the situation.

?The GRAMMYs asked me to play ?Eruption? for the ?In Memoriam? section and I declined,? Wolf begins his statement. ?I don?t think anyone could have lived up to what my father did for music but himself.?

The awards show showcased performances paying tribute to other legends that we have lost. Those in include Little Richard, John Prine, and Kenny Rogers. However, they played just a short clip as a tribute to Van Halen before moving on.

Van Halen continued his statement saying, ?It was my understanding that there would be an ?In Memoriam? section where bits of songs were performed for legendary artists that had passed. I didn?t realize that they would only show Pop for 15 seconds in the middle of 4 full performances for others we had lost.?
