Bartlesville and Barnsdall: Assessing the Aftermath of Tornado Damage

Reports of devastation have poured in from Barnsdall to northern Bartlesville following a confirmed tornado that swept through parts of north Tulsa, Osage, and Washington Counties between 9:30-10:15 PM on Monday evening.

The epicenter of significant damage in Bartlesville centered around the HWY 75 and Tuxedo area, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

As of 7:30 AM, HWY 75 remains closed in both directions between Frank Phillips and the Dewey Casey’s. Dewey PD has implemented detours, redirecting southbound traffic to HWY 123, which remains operational.

Washington County Undersheriff Jon Copeland urged residents to remain indoors to facilitate cleanup efforts and damage assessment.

Numerous reports have surfaced detailing structural damage, roof collapses, fencing destruction, and extensive power line outages.

By 10:50 PM, nearly 5,000 customers were without power in the Bartlesville area, predominantly concentrated on the eastern side of the city.

Additionally, Barnsdall experienced severe damage, with tragically one confirmed fatality and approximately 40 structures obliterated.

The east side of Barnsdall bore the brunt of the devastation, prompting the establishment of a triage center at the high school fieldhouse. Pawhuska Schools have opened their old gymnasium to provide shelter for affected individuals.

In Bartlesville, B The Light Mission has opened its doors as a shelter for those in need.

As a result of the catastrophic events, school has been canceled for Tuesday in Bartlesville, along with closures at Tri County Tech campuses, including the Early Learning Center.
