William hurt Hollywood actor passes away age 71. The news came from his son who said “It is with great sadness that the Hurt Family mourns the passing of William Hurt, beloved father, and Oscar-winning actor, on March 13, 2022, one week before his 72nd Birthday. He died peacefully, among family, of natural causes. The family requests privacy this time.” He was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer, which had spread to the bone, which was announced in 2018.

He was known for his role as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He also featured in marvel movies like “The Incredible Hulk”, ” Captain America: Civil War” and Avengers: Infinity War and also appeared in a cameo in Avengers: Endgame.

In a career that spanned over four-decades Hurt was credited for over 100 movies and TV shows which included popular movies like Lost in Space and Robin Hood.

For his performance in Kiss of the Spider Woman in 1987, he won an Oscar for best actor. He also received four consecutive Academy Award nominations between 1985 and 1987.

Hurt first appeared in a Marvel film in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk a film that also starred Edward Norton and Tim Roth in what was Marvel Universe’s only second film at that time which helped Marvel built in the following years.

I didn’t want to be isolated I didn’t want some big target on my chest saying “He’s an Oscar winner” I wanted to be an actor, so I was very confused about it sometimes I am still confused about it”.
