The so-called ‘special military operation’ of Russia in Ukraine is now taking a turn for the worse. Ukrainians are fleeing their motherland to neighboring territories to avoid being killed. The situation has deteriorated drastically and has led to a mass displacement of Ukrainians who have been the innocent victims of this war perpetrated by Russia.

As one of the most afflicting, disastrous, and terrible humanitarian crises unfolds in Europe, it is the moral responsibility of everyone to lend a helping hand to the Ukrainian refugees who lost it all (homes, savings, and peace) as a result of this war.

The tally of Ukrainians departing their country to neighboring nations is rising by the hour and Poland is amongst the many countries receiving an influx of people from Ukraine. The Poles have proven to be generous and great neighbors but us being global citizens cannot and should not let Poland navigate this alone. The help must arrive and the UK-based charity foundation ‘Stand With Ukraine Against War’ did just that.

Stand With Ukraine Against War is a humanitarian foundation set up in the United Kingdom to help Ukrainian victims of war fleeing to Poland. The foundation is aiming to raise £5,000 as part of its charity campaign for Ukrainians.

The fundraiser aims to create an impact and prove that humanity is still alive. It will transfer all the donations received to the official bank account of the Polish government (Konto Unia Metropolii Polskich) which will enable the Vice Mayor of Warsaw district of Praga-Poludnie to provide the essentials to Ukrainians who have been displaced.

The funds raised by the charity will be used for buying food items with long shelf life, hygiene products for children and adults, pain-killers, essential medicines, disinfectants, diapers, creams, juices, clothes, and more for the Ukrainian refugees.

The ‘Stand With Ukraine Against War’ foundation is in the process of applying to be a registered Charitable Incorporated Organization with the Charity Commission in the UK. It is being led by Julia Kedzoria, the kick-starter of the crowdfunding campaign. Julia is originally from Lviv, Ukraine and emigrated to the UK at age 15. She owns a successful household furniture importing business Impact Furniture Ltd. now.

The board of trustees of the foundation also include Yulia Andriyash and Izabela Swierczynska-Baker. The former is a Ukrainian born Managing Editor & Founder of AVEY of London, a boutique accounting and financial consulting firm in the UK while the latter is a successful social marketing expert who is using her skills to mobilize as many helping hands as possible with the cause.
