Tom Hanks says he has not been asked to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Hollywood symbol is right now starring in the sci-fi film Finch for Apple TV+. He has been one of the industry’s greatest stars for a really long time, headlining movies like Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, and the Toy Story series. Hanks as of late reminisced over a portion of the features of his celebrated lifetime, choosing A League of Their Own, Cast Away, and Cloud Atlas as a portion of his favorites.

One name who may not be appearing in a MCU film is Hanks, who said that the studio hasn’t asked him to be in anything. In an interview on the SmartLess Podcast (via The Direct), facilitated by actors Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes, Hanks was asked if he would be interested in being in a Marvel project. The film symbol gave the surprising reaction that he has never been offered a part in the mega-franchise, saying that the studio hadn’t reached out. Hanks kidded that in case he were offered a part in the series that it probably wouldn’t be as an incredible character, saying:

“Here’s the issue… Above all else, they’ve never called me once. No, never. And I think that if sooner or later they will, they’d say, ‘Is there any way you’d think about playing a secretary of protection?’ (laughs) Ya know, a person who comes and says, ‘Please, help us Ultraman, we can’t endure!’ I’d be one of those folks. I don’t get to play the punk…”

It is conceivable that Hanks will eventually make an appearance in a future Marvel movie. Hanks has had a long professional relationship with Disney, which will continue one year from now with him starring as Geppetto in their surprisingly realistic Pinocchio remake. The rundown of actors who haven’t appeared in a superhero film becomes more limited continuously, and Hanks remains among the greatest names in Hollywood. With how rapidly the MCU is expanding, perhaps he could expect a call from Kevin Feige someday soon.
