The infamous A-Force shot from Avengers: Endgame was reshot because of worries that it would be viewed as pandering. Indeed, even presently, over two years after its release, Avengers: Endgame actually poses a potential threat over the MCU. The impacts of what remains the franchise’s greatest film at any point are as yet being felt through projects like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Eternals, and they will probably keep on illuminating the MCU’s Phase 4 and beyond. Avengers: Endgame acted as far as it goes for saints like Steve Rogers and Iron Man while setting up various threads for the MCU’s future.

Curiously, the creatives behind Avengers: Endgame actually attempted to keep the A-Force scene from being considered as pandering. In the new book The Story of Marvel Studios: The Making of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (via CBR), maker Trinh Tran recapped the way Endgame’s A-Force second came about. After several female stars of the MCU met at a gathering, they modeled for a photo and began talking about a film focused on the ladies of the franchise. That prompted the creation of A-Force, which appeared as though a good idea until test audiences began to express their impressions:

“In earlier cuts, Tran admits, ‘When we started screen-testing it, there was a little worry for ‘Does it fall off [as]pandering?’ Are we going to get individuals saying, ‘Gracious you’re simply placing that scene in there just to place the scene in there. Does it actually have a story to tell with the remainder of the narrative?’ That was always a worry toward the back of our heads.'”

Going ahead, the MCU has a couple of female team-ups in progress that can perhaps run after actually assembling a better A-Force. The Marvels will see Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, and Ms. Marvel all unite, while Thor: Love and Thunder has the potential to partner Valkyrie with Jane Foster after she becomes the Mighty Thor. There are still thunderings that A-Force film could be conceivable someday, and in case that’s the case, it simply needs to learn from the (perhaps good natured) mistakes of Avengers: Endgame.
