Star Wars star Richard E. Grant jokes that Disney would have taken out his kneecaps in the event that he revealed spoilers. Grant’s latest job for Disney came in Loki, in which he plays one of several variants of Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief trapped in the Void. However Marvel made an honest effort to stay quiet about the high-profile actor’s job, Grant was supposed to appear as a variant of Loki in the Disney+ series before it aired.

In a meeting with Paul’s Trip to the Movies (via Comicbook) advancing his latest job in Loki, the Oscar-nominated actor addressed another job of his in a high-profile Disney creation which prepared for him for the extraordinary mystery of the Marvel show. While examining what that experience resembled, Grant kidded that Disney would have taken out his kneecaps on the off chance that he revealed spoilers about the final film in the Skywalker saga.

I was in the final Star Wars ? having to leave well enough alone like that was so agonizing, yet it was balanced by the fact that I knew that my kneecaps would probably be taken out by Disney on the off chance that I uncovered anything about Star Wars or I’d be removed of the film. So that kept me incredibly, calm. I’d had a dress rehearsal for that, so when it came to Loki, I thought, “Gracious, I think about this.”

While a couple of MCU stars, most famously Tom Holland, have battled with maintaining this degree of mystery in the past (which Marvel has apparently embraced and made a part of their actual marketing plan), Grant was entirely prepared for it because of his concise residency as General Pryde. While Marvel’s exceptional mystery is usually the center, Disney also organizes similar strategies for its Star Wars projects, namely the Disney+ series The Mandalorian, which went through great lengths to keep Mark Hamill’s return as Luke Skywalker a mystery in the leadup to the season 2 finale. It was this sort of mystery practiced on the Star Wars side of things that prepared Grant for Loki.
