Fletch reboot film featuring Jon Hamm begins recording this month. Chevy Chase played kidding, mask wearing columnist Fletch in the 1985 unique, a transformation of Gregory Mcdonald’s Fletch books. Pursue then returned as Fletch for the 1989 continuation Fletch Lives. Throughout the previous twenty years, endeavors have been in progress to reboot the establishment, with everybody from Harvey Weinstein to Kevin Smith to Zach Braff to Jason Sudeikis getting included at different focuses.
In 2020 it was declared that every one of those endeavors to dispatch a Fletch reboot were at last paying off. Hamm will create and star in the film for Miramax with Greg Mottola taking care of coordinating obligations and Zev Borow composing. Mottola himself just took to Twitter to refresh fans on the reboot, declaring that the film is set to go before cameras starting this month. See the tweet in the space beneath:
Hamm and Mottola’s Fletch will explicitly adjust Confess, Fletch, the second book in the first Mcdonald arrangement to be distributed (yet the 6th book in the congruity later settled through numerous prequel books). The film is supposed to be a modernized update that sticks nearer to the noirish tone of the books, when contrasted with the 1980s motion pictures which revised the accounts into expansive parody vehicles for Chase.
The logline for Fletch the reboot peruses: “In a puzzling chain of wild occasions, Fletch ends up in the center of various killings ? one of which pins him as a great suspect. While on a journey to demonstrate his honesty, Fletch is entrusted with discovering his life partner’s taken workmanship assortment, the lone legacy she’s gained after her father disappears and is assumed dead.”
