While fans excitedly sit tight for season five of Rick and Morty to drop not long from now, the show’s maker lets loose that the trippy, sci-fi parody will at last be made into a film. Season five of Rick and Morty was reported back in July of 2020 and is important for a drawn out bargain from May of 2018 in which 70 new episodes were requested over an unspecified number of seasons. The newest season will consist of ten episodes and will debut on June 20, 2021.
As advised to Metro, Rick and Morty maker, Scott Marder, says that a film will occur at some point. Marder sat down with author Dan Harmon and actress, Spencer Grammer (the voice of Summer), for a roundtable meeting. The triplet discussed the possibilities of taking their show leap toward the big screen. Marder is cited as saying:
It’d be overwhelming, I wouldn’t be shocked if there was one that comes down the line one day. I feel like each episode is a film. I’d prefer to see what a film would be, I feel like we pack so much in. It’d must be really epic.
Based on the basic and business success Rick and Morty has seen throughout the last couple of years, it truly comes as no surprise that a film is being anticipated later down the pipeline. The show has been praised for its innovative storylines and completely unique sense of humor. So, it would be truly interesting to see what the innovative group behind Rick and Morty could pull off for a full-length film on the big screen.
