New Season, New Mystery: A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2 Will Leave You Guessing
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2: Everything We Know About Pip’s Next Big Case
The mystery deepens in A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, and fans can finally rejoice — Season 2 is officially in the works! With production underway, our favorite teenage detective Pippa Fitz-Amobi is back on the case, and things are getting even more intense. From returning cast members to new plot twists, here’s everything we know so far about the highly anticipated second season.
What’s the Story in Season 2?
Pip Swore Off Solving Crimes… Until Someone Went Missing Again
Season 2 of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder picks up right where the last chapter left off. After exposing the truth about Andie Bell’s disappearance and clearing Sal Singh’s name, Pip wanted to step away from detective work. But Little Kilton isn’t ready to let her rest.
This time, the case hits even closer to home.
As the trial of Max Hastings approaches — the man connected to a traumatic chapter in Pip’s life — a key witness, Jamie Reynolds, suddenly vanishes. Once again, Pip is pulled back into the world of secrets and lies. But this time, the consequences could be even more dangerous.
When Does Season 2 Come Out?
The official release date hasn’t been announced yet, but we do know filming has already begun. Season 1 premiered in August 2024 and shot to No. 1 on Netflix’s Global Top 10 TV (English) list, so there’s a good chance Season 2 could follow a similar timeline and arrive by late 2025.
In the meantime, Season 1 is available to stream on Netflix — perfect for a rewatch!
Who’s in the Cast?
Returning Favorites
- Emma Myers (Wednesday, Family Switch) reprises her role as Pip Fitz-Amobi, the brilliant but haunted teen sleuth.
- Zain Iqbal returns as Ravi Singh, Pip’s partner-in-investigation and budding romantic interest.
So far, these are the only confirmed cast members. But based on the book series, more familiar faces from Little Kilton may return — and new ones could be introduced as the mystery unfolds.
Who’s Behind the Scenes?
This season is extra special for fans of the original books: author Holly Jackson is stepping in to co-write Season 2 alongside returning screenwriter Poppy Cogan. The second season is based on Jackson’s second book in the hit trilogy: Good Girl, Bad Blood.
Here’s what Jackson said about coming on board:
“I am BEYOND thrilled that we can continue Pip’s story and, this time, I’m writing on the show! We owe everything to the dedicated fans.”
Cogan added:
“I’m delighted to be back in Little Kilton with Pip and friends for Season 2 and to have the opportunity to bring another of Holly's gripping stories to the screen.”
The series is produced by Moonage Pictures (The Gentlemen, The Famous Five), in collaboration with BBC and Netflix. It will stream globally on Netflix — except in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand, where it will be available via local platforms like BBC iPlayer.
What Happened in Season 1?
Spoilers ahead!
Five years after the disappearance of popular high school student Andie Bell, Pip took on the cold case as part of her school project. What she uncovered turned her small town upside down — including the shocking revelation that Sal Singh, long blamed for Andie’s death, was actually innocent.
In the process, Pip grew close to Sal’s younger brother Ravi, and her search for the truth revealed how deep the corruption and secrets in Little Kilton went. But digging that deep came at a price. By the end of Season 1, Pip wasn’t the same girl who started the investigation.
And that’s exactly where Season 2 picks up.

Season 2 Themes: When Justice Isn’t So Simple
This new chapter explores the emotional cost of Pip’s past investigations. She’s not just solving a crime — she’s trying to find herself again. As she searches for the missing Jamie Reynolds, Pip wrestles with tough questions: Can she still be a “good girl”? What does justice look like when the system is broken? And how far is she willing to go?
Expect darker themes, moral dilemmas, and high-stakes choices.
Will Pip and Ravi’s Romance Continue?
Fans fell in love with Pip and Ravi’s chemistry in Season 1, and all signs point to their relationship deepening in Season 2. But with a new mystery and increasing pressure, their bond will definitely be tested. Can love survive in the middle of another investigation?
Only time will tell.
What Book Is Season 2 Based On?
Season 2 is adapted from Good Girl, Bad Blood, the second installment in Holly Jackson’s best-selling YA mystery trilogy. The book follows Pip as she starts a true-crime podcast — until a new missing persons case lands in her lap.
Jackson’s novels have been praised for their twisty plots and complex characters, so expect another binge-worthy season with shocking reveals and emotional depth.

If you loved Wednesday, Outer Banks, or Stranger Things, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder brings the same energy — but with a grounded, emotional twist. It’s smart, intense, and deeply human.
Season 2 promises more mystery, more danger, and more Pip.
