Wednesday Season 3 Update: Jenna Ortega Teases Horror-Filled Season 2 & Writers ‘Messing Around’ With Future Ideas
Jenna Ortega Shares Exciting Updates on Wednesday Season 2 & Future Plans for Season 3
Netflix’s Wednesday has become one of the platform’s most successful shows, and fans eagerly await the release of Season 2. Jenna Ortega, who plays the iconic Wednesday Addams, recently provided updates on the series’ progress and teased its horror influences. While Season 2 is currently in post-production, discussions about a potential third season have already begun.
Season 2 is Still in the Editing Stage
Despite wrapping filming, Ortega revealed that her work on Wednesday Season 2 isn’t over yet. In a recent interview with Collider, she shared that post-production is still ongoing.
“We’re still in the edit. I was doing ADR for it two weeks ago. That’s the funny thing about these jobs—you wrap, but you’re not really done. So, I’ll probably be working on it until the end.”
Netflix has yet to announce an official release date, but Ortega teased that Season 2 will feature “a lot of horror references,” signaling a darker, more chilling storyline compared to the first season.
Horror Elements and Chilling Visuals Await Fans
One of the most intriguing details Ortega shared involved Pugsley Addams (played by Isaac Ordonez) in a spine-chilling scene.
“Visually, I can say we have some of the most fun we’ve ever had. There’s a frame of Pugsley rolling his eyes back with this contraption around his head—that’s all I can say—and it reminds me so much of Full Metal Jacket. It’s insane. So bizarre.”
She also revealed that one entire episode will pay tribute to classic slasher films, adding a thrilling twist to the already dark and gothic aesthetic of the show.

What’s Next for Wednesday? Season 3 Talks Begin
While Netflix has not yet confirmed a third season, Ortega hinted that discussions are already happening.
“With a show like that, you kind of want to get ahead of the game. So, I think they’re kind of messing around and throwing out ideas.”
Given the massive success of Wednesday, it’s no surprise that the creators are brainstorming potential future storylines. Fans remain hopeful that Netflix will officially greenlight Season 3 soon.

Season 2 will welcome back fan-favorite characters, including:
- Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams

- Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams
Additionally, new cast members joining the series include:

With a mix of fresh faces and familiar favorites, Wednesday Season 2 is set to elevate the series to new heights.
Will Wednesday Season 3 Happen?
Though Netflix has not made an official announcement regarding Season 3, the ongoing discussions and the immense popularity of the show make it highly likely. With Jenna Ortega’s enthusiasm and the writers already tossing around ideas, fans have plenty to look forward to.
Until then, audiences can prepare for a darker, horror-driven Season 2 that promises to push boundaries and expand the eerie world of Wednesday Addams.
