STORYLINE
“Blue lock” Following their disappointing 16th-place finish in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the Japan national team embarks on an unorthodox journey to elevate their performance. They do so by seeking the expertise of the mysterious football strategist, Ego Jinpachi. Jinpachi introduces a bold and ambitious plan dubbed Blue Lock, which seeks to revolutionize Japan’s football landscape by crafting the epitome of an egotistical striker. Blue Lock represents a radical departure from conventional training methods, aiming not only to enhance individual skills but also to instill a mindset of unyielding confidence and competitiveness. In Jinpachi’s vision, this approach is key to transforming Japan into a dominant force in international football.
Participation in the Blue Lock program becomes the exclusive avenue for players to secure a spot on the national team, effectively rendering traditional selection processes obsolete. Those who do not meet the rigorous standards set by Blue Lock find themselves permanently sidelined from representing their country on the football field. At the center of this narrative is Yoichi Isagi, whose journey serves as a microcosm of the trials and tribulations faced by aspiring footballers within the Blue Lock system.
