Scoot Henderson stressed that he’s ready for the NBA Draft.

With the playoffs starting, the draft is also underway for potential picks in June. It’s common knowledge that Victor Wembanyama is likely to be the first pick. The second pick is expected to be Henderson, a dynamic point guard often compared to Russell Westbrook.

“I’m just ready,” Scoot said. “I’m just trying to prepare myself for the next level. I feel right there.”

Henderson participated in the Rising Stars games with the G League team, marking his second appearance at All-Star weekend, which is a rare achievement for someone who has not played in the NBA yet.

This season, Henderson has maintained an average of 18.3 points, 6.7 assists, and 4.8 rebounds for the G League Ignite team. In the recent victory over Iowa, he almost achieved a triple-double, scoring 14 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists in just under 29 minutes.

Scoot has been frequently asked about his rivalry with Wembanyama. He made clear last October that he doesn’t consider Wembanyama as his rival at all.

“There might be a team that might need a leader, need somebody who can talk, somebody who can communicate on the floor,” he said. “I think I can make a big difference.”

Regardless of whether he’s chosen as the first, second, or last pick in the draft, Henderson is confident that he’ll be able to help a team in the coming season.

Henderson reveals his mindset

The G league Ignite Star has recently talked about the traits he believes would make him successful in the NBA, in a recent conversation with Jamal Crawford and Candace Parker.

“I think it’s just, like me and Jamal were talking about it earlier, it’s that dog in me. I’m not going to let nobody out dog me or out hustle me at all. I’m playing 110% the whole time. So, I think it’s that aspect of my game that could take me pretty far,” the star said.
