Greg Finley, a distinguished actor, voiceover artist, and ADR specialist known for his work on iconic projects such as Robotech, The X-Files, and Men in Black II, has sadly passed away at the age of 76. His son, Guy Finley, confirmed that Greg Finley died on February 1 while vacationing with his in-laws in Phoenix.

Throughout his illustrious career, Greg Finley made significant contributions to the entertainment industry, lending his voice and talent to numerous movies and television shows. He played a pivotal role as a writer, director, and voice actor in the acclaimed 1980s anime series Robotech, and created distinctive sounds for characters like the Cigarette Smoking Man in The X-Files and a group of tiny aliens in Men in Black II.

Despite retiring in 2018, Greg Finley continued to make occasional appearances, including a recent one on the Netflix docuseries The King Who Never Was in 2023.

Born on May 8, 1947, in Los Angeles, Greg Finley embarked on his acting journey after serving in Vietnam with the Special Forces. His early career saw him providing additional dialogue replacement (ADR) for notable projects like CHiPs and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. He also appeared in various television series and films, including The Dukes of Hazzard and Oliver Stone’s The Hand.

Greg Finley’s legacy extends beyond his professional accomplishments. He was actively involved in community theater alongside his wife Patricia, whom he married in 1982. Survived by his wife, sons, stepdaughters, brothers, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Greg Finley’s impact on the entertainment world and his community will be fondly remembered.
