In anticipation of the much anticipated sequel, Black Panther 2, which will hit theatres later this year, we now have its first trailer. Following the terrible passing of Chadwick Boseman in August 2020, the plot for the movie will include T’Challa’s death, as shown in the moving teaser, which had its Comic-Con debut on July 23 as part of Marvel’s grand presentation.
The eagerly awaited MCU sequel resumed production in January 2022 and was completed in March 2022 after another week-long delay brought on by Covid. Letitia Wright needed time to heal from an on-set accident, which is why the show took a pause from November 2021 to January 2022.

Title officially announced

The sequel’s title, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, was officially announced in May 2021. After a few postponements from its initial May 2022 release, the sequel is now scheduled to open in theatres in November 2022, and everything appears to be on track for that. Everyone engaged with the production wanted to make sure that it honoured Boseman. Wright remarked in May 2022, “We honoured him by dedicating ourselves to the narrative and legacy he built with this franchise.
“And we simply committed every day to working hard, no matter what circumstances we faced—and we faced a lot of difficulties, a lot of terrible situations—but we came together as a team, and we poured everything into this movie.”
Even though Boseman won’t be digitally resurrected, we don’t yet know how the sequel will handle his unfortunate death, but there is still enough of information to savour as we wait for the film’s debut.

Black Panther to be released soon

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will now be released in theatres on November 11, 2022, following the postponement in October 2021.The sequel now airs in July 2023, replacing The Marvels, which was originally scheduled for July 2022. This is a four-month delay. We hope that this will be the final shift for the film, but nothing is definite at this point. Although filming began in June 2021, there was a break from November 2021 to January 2022, as was already indicated. However, filming ended in March 2022 and production began again in January 2022, so perhaps it will be released in November.
On July 23, during Comic-Con, a trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was shown. It has been announced that the sequel won’t replace the part of T’Challa in order to preserve Chadwick Boseman’s legacy. Also thankfully, there are no plans to employ a “digital duplicate” in the follow-up.
According to Victoria Alonso, EVP of Marvel Studios, “There’s only one Chadwick, and he’s not with us.” Unfortunately, our king has passed away in real life as well as in fiction. We are taking some time to consider how we can honour this chapter of what has occurred to us that was so unexpected, sad, and truly dreadful.
Kevin Feige also said “A location to further explore with characters and many subcultures is Wakanda. This has always been, and initially was, the main subject of the following tale. We won’t be using CG Chadwick, and T’Challa won’t be recast either.” Addition by Kevin Feige “With characters and many subcultures, Wakanda is a world worth exploring more deeply. The following narrative always has this as its main subject and initially did. T’Challa won’t be recast, and we won’t have a CG Chadwick either.”
In addition, he addressed contrasts between the first and second movies. “I believe we will just keep recounting the tale and paying tribute to the wonderful man. The individuals participating in that endeavour are all close friends. I believe it creates a wonderful sense of companionship. Therefore, I anticipate it will wow everyone like the previous one did.”
