Sixth instalment of the ‘Scream‘ franchise is almost here and the executive producer of the film, Kevin Williamson revealed details about the highly anticipated movie.

In a discussion with SYFY, Kevin said, “It doesn’t feel like ‘Part 6,’ it feels like you’re watching this big, huge, fresh reinvention,” He continued, “I love Scream VI. It’s really good. It’s great. There’s no way around it. I’m very happy with how it turned out … I really do have all that enthusiasm for it. I’m really excited.”

Williamson responded when asked about any freshness in the script this time, “I don’t know what the fresh angle is. The line keeps moving, everything keeps changing. I just write what I want to see. I watch a lot of movies, other horror films, and I’m so happy with the genre right now. I think Blumhouse, James Wan, and Jordan Peele are all doing these amazing things … I watch everything Aad then I say, ‘Well, let me write something I’m not seeing right now. Let me write something that I think I can add to the conversation.’ That’s kind of how I approach it. There’s no trick to it or roadmap, really.”

Kirby is officially back!

Hayden Panettiere returns to the ‘Scream’ franchise for the sixth instalment. Kirby Reed was last seen in ‘Scream 4’ when she was left for dead.

Kevin Williamson talked about why Hayden didn’t return earlier. He said, “We’re like, ‘Where’s Kirby?’ We couldn’t find her. She doesn’t have an agent. She had sort of disappeared, I called up my producer in Nashville and said, ‘Do you know Hayden Panettiere, by any chance? Because we can’t find her!’ He’s like, ‘Oh yeah, let me call her,’ And then they called back and it was like, ‘Alright, found her!’”

‘Scream 6’ arrives in theaters on March 10, 2023.
