Meredith Marks, star of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, is as puzzled as fans about the reasons behind her recent falling out with castmate Mary Cosby. As season five of the hit reality series unfolds, Meredith shared her confusion with PEOPLE during the DirecTV Gets Real party, admitting she doesn’t fully understand what triggered the rift.

“I’d love to tell you what the problem was. I still don’t understand why Mary and I even got into a fight,” Marks explained. “So I’m excited to tune in myself and understand it.”

The brewing tension between the two friends was teased in the season five trailer, where Cosby is seen confronting Marks at various events. During one heated exchange, Cosby bluntly tells Marks, “You’re not always the victim,” to which Meredith replies, “Yeah, you used me for three years. I got the memo.”

Despite the trailer hinting at escalating drama, Meredith says the fight “made no sense” to her at the time and hopes that watching the season will provide some clarity. She remained tight-lipped about the specific details of the feud, but the former friends appear to grow increasingly distant as the season progresses, with Cosby eventually telling Marks to leave her house, saying, “Get out of my house! You’re a sneaky, little snarky, little something.”

As the dynamics between Marks and Cosby continue to evolve, Meredith has found connection with the new additions to the RHOSLC cast. “I feel like I connected with both Britani [Bateman] and Bronwyn [Newport] at different times and in different ways,” she said.

Bronwyn Newport, 39, joins the cast as a full-time member, while Britani Bateman appears as a “friend,” alongside another newcomer, Meili Workman. However, Meredith admitted she didn’t spend as much time with Meili during filming. “Although she’s very sweet,” Marks added, “I didn’t really get very much time with her.”

The returning cast of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City also includes familiar faces like Lisa Barlow, Heather Gay, and Whitney Rose, making season five an exciting and dramatic watch for fans. Despite the turbulence with Mary Cosby, Marks remains a central figure in the group and looks forward to seeing how the season plays out.

For now, Meredith remains in the dark about the true cause of the disagreement, leaving fans eager to see the full story unfold on the show. As tensions simmer and friendships are tested, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City continues to deliver its signature mix of glamour, drama, and emotional confrontations.

You can catch all the drama as it unfolds on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, airing Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo, with episodes available the following day on Peacock.
