Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli Separate After Nearly 28 Years of Marriage

After almost 28 years together, Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli are going through a separation. According to her representative, the couple is living apart and “taking a break from their marriage,” though no legal divorce proceedings have been initiated at this time.

They were married in 1997 and share two daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose Giannulli.

A Marriage Marked by Public Controversy

This separation comes after years of public scrutiny. In 2019, both Loughlin and Giannulli were implicated in the college admissions bribery scandal (Operation Varsity Blues), accused of paying $500,000 to fraudulently secure their daughters’ admission to USC by labeling them as rowing recruits — despite neither having experience in the sport.

In 2020, they pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud. Loughlin served two months in federal prison; Giannulli served five months.

Real Estate Moves & Signals

Earlier this year, the couple listed their Hidden Hills mansion for $16.5 million. They purchased the property in August 2020 for $9.5 million, just months after the scandal broke.

This real estate move has been viewed by observers as a possible sign of upcoming changes in their personal lives.

Next Steps & Family Implications

No divorce has been filed at present. The separation appears to be a tentative, informal step rather than an immediate legal breakup.

Their daughters, now adults, have already lived through significant public scrutiny tied to the admissions scandal and its fallout.

Loughlin has gradually returned to acting since her release from prison, taking roles in television shows and films including When Hope Calls, On Call, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and other projects.
