Shin Min-a and Kim Woo Bin will star in the same Korean drama, titled Our Blues. Although fans are excited to see the real-life partners share the screen, the upcoming drama will not feature them romancing each other. The couple is said to have started dating in 2015 and have been together ever since.

The couple has managed to keep their relationship low-key over the years by refusing to discuss their respective partners in public. As the drama’s release date approaches, Shin Min-a and Kim Woo Bin, as well as the rest of the cast of Our Blues, attended a press conference where the drama’s writer explained why the real-life couple was not cast as romantic partners.

In Our Blues, why aren’t Shin Min-a and Kim Woo Bin romantic partners?

According to a report from All Kpop, Noh Hee Kyung, the writer of Our Blues, talked about roping in real-life couple Shin Min-a and Kim Woo Bin in the same drama. She admitted that she had a “gut feeling” that if they were romantically involved on screen, she wouldn’t be able to persuade them to appear in the same drama. So Hee Kyung approached them and pitched them a different romantic storyline, which they both agreed to.
“I felt they chose to do this project because they were professionals,” she continued. I was unconcerned about it. They were also very accommodating.”

Actor Kim Woo Bin, on the other hand, who will be making his comeback to K-dramas after a four-year hiatus due to cancer, opened up about how ‘nervous’ he was to be working with his senior cast members in the drama. In addition to the duo, Lee Byung Hun, Cha Seung Won, Lee Jung Eun, and others appear in Our Blues. “I’m nervous,” he said, according to PTI. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you. As a result, I’m quite nervous. I did do some commercials and a scripted variety show. But I’m overjoyed and grateful to be able to appear in a drama series and meet all of you”. From April 9, 2022, Our Blues will be available on Netflix.
