The music video for J-Hope’s latest single titled ‘On the Street,’ featuring American rapper J. Cole is out now.
The song “On the street” is primarily in English but has occasional Korean words. In the music video, J-hope starts off by bringing joy to a young boy on the street and singing, “Every time I walk, Every time I run, Every time I move, as always, for us! Every time I look, Every time I love, Every time, I hope, as always, for us!” J-hope is using these lyrics to express his strong bond with all of his fans.
The music video, which has a duration of 4 minutes and 28 seconds, reveals J-hope’s personal reflections about music, his fans (ARMY), and reconnecting with his origins.
J-Hope talks about the song
The star singer talked about his latest single in an exclusive interview with Variety. He started off by saying , “Since the release of ‘Jack In The Box,’ I kept asking myself, ‘What drove me here? What made me who I am now?’ As an artist who expresses himself through music and stage, I realized that it helps me to move forward and learn new things through reflecting on my roots and reminding myself of where I come from. It is a part of the learning process to become a more mature artist.”
“It goes back to Lollapalooza last summer. J. Cole is my idol and we met there. Since then, I couldn’t stop thinking about how great it would be if we could make music together. So I reached out to him. I already had a plan in mind to release music around this time, and I began working on it in early November. As much as it took me a while to finish the song, I cherish it so much and it means a lot to me,” he told about collaborating with the American rapper.
