YG Entertainment on Tuesday confirmed that Blackpink’s Jisoo has begun filming the music video to her solo debut. The company also mentioned that they have invested the largest production cost ever among the girl group videos.

Jisoo is the last member of the star K-pop band to embark on a solo career. Starting from Jennie in 2018, followed by Rose in 2020 and then Lisa in 2021, all the members have already debuted their solo music and now it’s Jisoo’s turn.

“The music video for Jisoo’s solo song is being filmed in an overseas location in strict secrecy. You can look forward to it as we invested the largest production cost ever among BLACKPINK videos,” said the label.

The band is currently on tour and is set to perform in Philippines next month. They will also be headlining Coachella music festival and the British Summer Time Hyde Park in London, later this year.

Jisoo talks about her solo debut

Blackpink’s Jisoo earlier talked about her solo debut in an interview with Rolling Stones.

“I’m not sure how much I want to go solo yet. The music I listen to, the music I can do, and the music I want to do – what should I choose? I love songs with lots of instruments. I love different bands and rock music. What do people want from me? There’s a chaos of conflicting questions. So, I’m still tilting my head in confusion. I’m not sure what will happen with my solo plans this year,” she said.

The singer now also has her own YouTube channel, that she opened on her 28th birthday. The star has uploaded four videos so far, London, Barcelona, Cologne and Paris. She currently has 3.45 million subscribers on the platform.
