BTS has been unable to take home a Grammy award for over three years. However, Sam Smith & Kim Petras’ “Unholy” won the ‘Best Pop Duo/Group Performance’ category. The award for ‘Best Music Video’ went to Taylor Swift’s “All too Well” and ‘Album of the Year’ went to Harry Styles’ “Harry House.” “My Universe,” which was released in 2021, is a song that features Korean lyrics set to an intense rock-inspired melody. It topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart and became BTS’ 6th number one song on the chart. BTS had previously been nominated in the ‘Best Pop Duo/Group Performance’ category for two consecutive years at the 63rd and 64th Grammy Awards, but they did not win, causing disappointment among their fans.

At a press conference for their concert in Las Vegas, USA in April of 2022, Jimin stated, “We were very disappointed that we didn’t receive the award last year and all the members felt sad, which fueled us to work even harder.” V also shared his emotions, stating, “Even though we accept the outcome of the award, it still hurts.” On the other hand, Jin expressed a positive outlook, saying, “This isn’t the only opportunity, and we will continue to challenge ourselves and give our best effort.”
