The FIFA World Cup ceremony performance by Jungkook of BTS has received more than 100 million views on YouTube, making him the first Asian artist to accomplish so! “Jungkook’s Dreamers Live Performance at the FIFA World Cup 2022 Opening Ceremony in Qatar has achieved 100M views on YouTube,” the World Music Award wrote on Twitter. It’s the first time in history that an Asian soloist has performed live, and an Asian act has done so more quickly.

Dreamers’ achievements:

In addition, Jungkook’s “Dreamers” surpassed BLACKPINK’s “Pretty Savage” to become the Asian artist with the fastest live YouTube video to reach 100 million views. The official soundtrack for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, “Dreamers,” which was published by Jungkook on November 20 of last year, has received more than 1 million Shazams on Shazam, the largest music search engine in the world.

In just 50 days after its release, “Dreamers” surpassed 1 million views on Shazam, and Jungkook’s status as a leading singer all over the world was emphasized. Dreamers showed excellent sound source strength, climbing to No. 1 on Shazam Korea’s Top 200 chart on December 24. Dreamers first appeared on Shazam’s Global Worldwide Top 200 ranking on November 27.

One million Shazams were also recorded for Jungkook’s original song “Still With You” and Charlie Puth’s popular song “Left and Right,” which they both worked on together.

The previous successes of Jungkook:

A Korean male idol’s solo song “Still With You” had previously achieved Shazam records of 600,000 and 700,000. Jungkook achieved 700,000 Shazams with his two solo singles, “Euphoria” and “Still With You,” making him the “first” and “only” Korean male idol to accomplish so. Euphoria, My Time, Stay Alive, and Begin were all solo songs by Jungkook which received more than 840,000 Shazams each.

On Spotify, the largest music streaming service in the world, “Dreamers” had more than 100 million streams in just 35 days, setting a record for a K-pop solo single. iTunes (iTunes) also won the top spot in more than 100 countries and broke the record in a total of 104 nations. The “first” official World Cup soundtrack, “Dreamers,” made history by dominating both the US Billboard Digital Song Sales Chart and the Global Digital Song Sales Chart for “two weeks in a row.”
