Guinness World Records has finally certified that Lalisa Manoban, better known as Lisa of BLACKPINK, set three new world records in 2022.

Lisa was the first individual K-pop winner at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2022. She was also the MTV Europe Music Awards’ first individual K-pop winner. The group has also acknowledged Lisa as the K-Pop celebrity with the highest Instagram followers.

In addition to dominating the MTV Awards, they stated, “Lisa has also been granted the title of most followers on Instagram for a K-pop singer with 86.3 million followers as of 19 January 2023.”

One of the international faces of K-Pop is Lisa from BLACKPINK. Since BLACKPINK’s 2016 debut, the Thai rapper, singer, and dancer has become one of the most well-known K-Pop singers. In September 2021, the 25-year-old K-Pop sensation made her solo debut.

She became the first female artist to achieve this feat with her debut solo album LALISA, which only contained two songs, selling more than 736,000 copies in South Korea during its first week of sales.

The music video for the album’s lead single, “Same Name,” gained 73.6 million views on YouTube in the first day after release, making it the biggest music video debut by a solo artist.

In addition to two Guinness World Records, the song handed Lisa the first MTV Video Music Award ever won by a K-pop singer. Money, the album’s second single, and “Lalisa” both peaked in the top ten of the Billboard Global 200.

The most streamed K-Pop soloist albums and songs at the moment on Spotify are “Lalisa” (album) and “MONEY.”

Lisa is now in Paris performing at a charity event with her band BLACKPINK. While visiting France, she was photographed with tennis legend Roger Federer and Swedish violinist Daniel Lozakovich.
