BIGBANG’s Daesung is leaving YG Entertainment after 16 years. The agency first claimed that they were still talking to his bandmates G-Dragon and Daesung about the potential of contract renewals on December 26, amid rumours that Taeyang had signed with THEBLACKLABEL after his deal with YG Entertainment expired.

However, YG Entertainment continued to make announcements later that day and said, “Daesung has decided to end his contract with us.” They also claimed, “He’s looking for a fresh start.” Similar to like they did with Taeyang, YG Entertainment made it clear that even though Daesung was leaving the agency, he was staying with BIGBANG. They added, “The fact that Daesung is a BIGBANG member has not changed. We support Daesung’s choice and new start, and we are always open to cooperating with him.” “We are still in the midst of contract negotiations,” YG Entertainment said in reference to G-Dragon.

Daesung’s future plans are currently unknown, although YGE has stated that he will stay with Big Bang, saying, “The fact that Daesung is a Big Bang member has not changed. We support Daesung’s choice and new start, and we are always open to cooperating with him.” Fans are waiting with held breath to see what the King of K-pop’s move will be since the label also revealed that they are in the middle of contract negotiations with G-Dragon, who has been with YGE since he was 13 years old.
