Ironmouse Exits VShojo Over $500K in Unpaid Charity and Personal Dues

VTuber and Twitch sensation Ironmouse has officially parted ways with talent agency VShojo, revealing that the agency withheld over $500,000 in charitable donations and failed to pay her personal earnings. Her announcement, shared in an emotional YouTube video on July 21, has sent shockwaves through the VTuber community.

A Sudden and Emotion-Fueled Departure

Ironmouse, a co-founder of VShojo and one of the most prominent virtual streamers, disclosed that after months of financial mismanagement, VShojo withheld funds owed to her—and, most painfully, the Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF), a cause deeply personal to her as someone living with common variable immunodeficiency (CVID). Donations raised during her 2024 subathon—totaling around $515,000—never reached the charity, despite being processed through VShojo’s systems.

She also expressed feeling misled and emotionally manipulated by the agency, saying she was pressured to stay by warning that her departure could harm fellow creators and the group's future. Legal restrictions currently prevent her from sharing more details, but she promised the full story would emerge once clearance is given.

The Charity Crisis That Sparked This Crisis

Ironmouse’s platform has long supported the IDF, with her streams raising over $4 million for the charity alongside fellow VTuber Connor “CDawgVA” Colquhoun. Her September 2024 subathon shattered subscription records, drawing more than 310,000 subs and netting over $515,000 — almost a year later, VShojo failed to forward the funds.

Ironmouse emphasized the emotional toll: her generosity stemmed from personal experience and a passion for giving back, making the agency’s failure feel like a betrayal. She announced that all ad revenue from her departure video would go directly to the IDF, and she’s planning another independent charity stream soon.

Community Fallout and Industry Impact

Ironmouse’s departure follows a succession of VShojo exits earlier this year—including Matara Kan, GEEGA, and Draconeer (Zentreya)—though none publicly cited misconduct. Now, many creators are distancing themselves, either removing VShojo tags from their profiles or supporting Ironmouse's statements.

On Reddit, fans reacted strongly. One comment read:

“Scamming the personal pet charity of your biggest star is like… legendary scumshittery.”

Another echoed the sentiment:

“That is complete clown shoes nonsense that this happened… VShojo Management can eat a big ol’ bag of dicks.”

The backlash hints at more departures and reputational damage for VShojo.

Thanks to VShojo’s policies, creators like Ironmouse retain full control over their avatars and IP even after leaving. Now independent once more, she continues to stream to over 2.3 million Twitch followers. Her advocacy for CVID awareness and plasma donation remains central to her content, and she’s been honored as a Plasma Hero and Content Creator of the Year.

Her departure highlights ongoing concerns in digital entertainment: Are agencies managing creators’ funds properly? Will this scandal prompt regulatory or community-driven transparency measures? As Ironmouse pledges to uphold her charitable commitments independently, the VTuber community watches closely to see what comes next.
