It is in this respect that T-Mobile has been receiving much backlash from its customers following the cessation of its "lifetime" price lock guarantee, which several users are demanding recompense for as a result of this disruption. Arguably, the promise of a lifetime price lock was one of the biggest draws for the carrier, luring in customers by promising them that provided they would stay with the firm, their rates would forever remain the same. It is in these ends that the several new changes have left many people feeling betrayed and frustrated.

Social networks were loud with the phrase "I am still alive" since people demonstrated their loyalty and continued to serve T-Mobile, despite the changed company policy. Loads of users, who purchased a lifetime price lock feel deceived since they signed contract under an impression their rates would be protected for eternity. The reasons for protest have been transparency and fairness in the company's practice.

This has made people question how T-Mobile would better communicate changes in the terms and conditions. The step has led users to opine that the step erodes their trust in the company, especially the old loyal customers who have enjoyed long-term patronage. The feeling is that it's a breach of contract; the clamor is increasing for T-Mobile to respect its old commitments or give adequate compensation.

Consumer advocacy groups have also chimed in on the controversy, pushing for the importance of transparency in communication in telecommunication. They postulate that where such companies promise their customers terms, they should be held accountable for those terms. Again, the backlash mirrors deeper frustrations among consumers against corporate greed and a lack of accountability in the industry.

Actually, a year and a half since the resignation of its lifetime price lock, T-Mobile claims to have made this decision just to simplify its pricing model as well as to stay competitive in an evolving market. Such justification has hardly placated worried loyal customers. Many now demand T-Mobile either restore its lifetime price lock or restore discounts and credits lost as compensation.

This leaves the whole scenario open as to how T-Mobile responds to such an outcry by its customer base. Possibly, it will need to be much more forthcoming with its users regarding their grievances to rebuild trust. The transparency and engagement with the customers would be fundamental in navigating this backlash.
