Zendaya and Tom Holland made a delightful public appearance in Zendaya’s hometown of Oakland, California. The couple attended a community basketball event hosted by nonprofit organizations Hoopbus, Project Blackboard, and the apparel brand Oaklandish on August 25.
Dressed in a white top and light brown jeans with a sky blue overshirt, Zendaya looked stylish, while Tom opted for a black Oakland Roots Sports Club t-shirt. The event, held at a local elementary school, offered games and activities for the children in attendance.
Zendaya shared a glimpse of the day on her Instagram Story, posting a photo of Tom playing basketball. Hoopbus also posted a video showcasing Zendaya’s arrival at the event, where she was met with excitement from the children. In a video captured by Project Blackboard, Zendaya addressed the attendees, expressing her joy at being there and encouraging everyone to have a great time playing basketball. Tom playfully attempted to spin a basketball on his finger and remarked, “I feel like a lucky kid in a game.” Zendaya playfully responded that she wouldn’t be playing basketball herself since she hadn’t played since she was as young as the attendees.
The couple’s appearance was notable due to their tendency to keep their relationship private since it was revealed in 2021. Zendaya recently discussed her approach to privacy in an interview with Elle, stating that while certain aspects of her life are public, she still retains control over what she chooses to share.
Zendaya and Tom’s relationship began in 2016 when they were cast as leads in Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” What started as a close friendship evolved into a romantic relationship. They have since starred together in two more Spider-Man films and are set to appear in the upcoming “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”
Outside of the event, the couple was spotted on a casual date night in London’s Mayfair neighborhood, generating paparazzi attention. Zendaya wore a beige cardigan over a white T-shirt and tan trousers, accessorizing with a monogram Louis Vuitton bag. Tom’s outfit included a white tee, a navy cardigan, black jeans, and white sneakers.
