Anything is possible, from Erykah Badu’s lips to Cupid’s ears.

The R&B legend spoke to the crowd about her obsession on “The Woman King” star John Boyega earlier this month while performing in Atlanta.

“Please say hello to John Boyega if you see him. I wanted to express that since there are a lot of people in the audience, Badu remarked in a video posted by the “Strong Black Lead” Instagram account of Netflix. Because there are enough of you for one of you to reach the man with the message, right?

Boyega’s age was brought up by Badu as she gushed about the “fine” 31-year-old actor on stage. “What age is he? He’s not quite 30? Hell yes, she exclaimed. That is what I’m referring to.

Later, Boyega surprised Badu by entering the stage. This fulfilled her request. Badu was midway through performing her 1997 song “Tyrone,” which she rerecorded for Boyega’s Netflix action comedy “They Cloned Tyrone,” when she spotted Boyega. She later gave him a hug.Although the performance had to go on, Badu didn’t let that stop her from chit-chatting with Boyega.

“I’m working. I have to work, but I can multitask,” remarked Badu while singing in the background of their talk. “So, you’re from Atlanta?”

Boyega received a special VIP invitation to hang out from Badu to conclude their encounter.

Later, I’m returning to the bus. Obviously after the performance. I must complete this,” Badu stated. “After that, we’ll return to the bus. Is that acceptable? The key will be provided to you.
Boyega, Jamie Foxx, and Teyonah Parris play Fontaine, Slick Charles, and Yo-Yo, respectively, in the movie “They Cloned Tyrone,” which was released earlier this month. They are tasked with preventing the citizens of their “trap” neighbourhood, The Glen, from turning into clones as part of a covert government experiment to control Black people.

Before the Screen Actors Guild strike, Boyega described the movie to USA TODAY as “Blaxploitation, a weird mystery movie mixed with comedy.”
