Story
Reese Witherspoon plays Margot in the endearing and hilariously chaotic movie You are Cordially Invited. Margot is a meticulous wedding planner who is putting together her sister’s ideal wedding. As this is going on, Will Ferrell portrays Jim, a devoted but obnoxious father who is desperate to give his daughter the best possible start in marriage.
Wedding planning quickly becomes a war zone when Jim and Margot unintentionally reserve the same idyllic, isolated island resort for their respective nuptials. As Margot and Jim realize their ideal travel destinations are now a shared space, the isolated resort, renowned for its tranquility, becomes anything but that.
Jim prefers a more relaxed and impromptu approach, which is at odds with Margot’s meticulous attention to detail and rigid schedule. Due to the decision by both parties to share the venue, confusion and chaos ensue on the island. Plot Summary
